Part of an indoors nature refuge
I am one of those people who have trouble with cold, wet and grey weather. I know most landscape photographers are looking exactly for those kind of conditions, but that is probably why I will never be one.
So, the weather here has been dreadful for what feels like weeks with only little breaks of spells of sunshine. Means, it was the perfect excuse for me to stay indoors. And as I have created my own little indoor nature reserve I can even do some nature photography without being exposed to the rain. I always had houseplants and couldn’t image a living space without them. And only recently I have rediscovered again what they really mean to me and I am paying more attention to not only keeping them alive somehow, but actually keeping them healthy and potentially thriving.
Part of the roughly 150 plants I have (some of them just small and attempts at propagation) is my small but growing collection of orchids. And as quite a few of them are currently flowering, I decided to document their current state. The following photographs are the result of me trying to show their beauty in the best possible way with the tools I have.
Undoubtedly beautiful flowers
And I never get tired of looking at them.
This is only current state but others are about to have flowers too and I already look forward to those. And my collection is still growing. So there’s more to come – I hope.
