Works of art I find astonishing
I have been fascinated by glass art for a while. The tiny figurines created from glass have been around me already when I was a child. And it was when I watched the first series of ‘Blown Away’ on Netflix when I was fascinated by the beautiful and sometimes enormous works of art these artists were able to create from this not at all easy to handle raw material.
And when I found out that there is a glass museum in the city near me – why had I never even heard of it before? – I went and had a look.
The following photographs are nowhere near showing the objects in their best light but they are the best I could do with my little Sony and the conditions in the exhibition. Sunlight streaming through the windows and the glass pieces often displayed right in front of them was less than ideal and caused reflections all over the place. I still want to show them here, though. This is not about my photographs, it is about the artist’s sculptures.
The names under the photos are those of the artist who created the objects (where I still had them).
