about

My love for photography started way back when and developed gradually into what it is today.
I have had various cameras from when I was about 8 years old. They were simple ‘point-and-shoot’ devices with just a single-use disposable flash-unit to attach to it. And like so many people who have reached my age, I photographed only on ‘special occasions’ as it was expensive to buy film and get it processed.
My more serious excursions into photography began during university when my then future husband handed me his SLR-camera and asked me to document events he was heavily involved in running and couldn’t do it himself.
In the beginning I had no idea what I was doing. Yet, gradually I got the gist and enjoyed it more and more.
Over time, he photographed less and less and I took over more and more often. And by now the only camera he uses is the one in his smartphone. And the equipment I use is entirely my own and exactly suits my purpose.
Over the years, my photography evolved from documenting events, travels, and other special occasions gradually into what it has become until now. And that is featured in this website.
Most importantly, photography has become a way for me to relax, enjoy nature, and leave everyday life behind for a few hours every now and again. It is a form of meditation for me.
That is also why nature has become my favourite subject. It is everywhere, I don’t need to travel to get to it, and it provides so much beauty that – at least to me – there is an endless supply of subjects to photograph.
I hope you enjoy this website and can maybe even draw some inspiration from it.
